About

Hello, I'm Jay Patel, a passionate software developer dedicated to creating impactful full-stack applications that make a difference. By day, I serve as a Simulation Software Developer for the United States Air Force, where I bring my technical expertise to mission critical projects. In my free time, I'm always experimenting with new technologies and building innovative applications. Most recently, I've been diving into QT to develop cross-platform C++ applications with rich user interfaces and exceptional performance.

Education and Experience

  1. IT Helpdesk Specialist | UGA College of Education

Helped teachers and students in the college of education with tech related issues and periodically reset Operating System and Disk Storage on Laptops.

  2. Software Developer Intern | United States Air Force

Developed a WPF client-server application to emulate F-35 fighter jet control inputs via joystick, enabling real-time modifications to aircraft components through a TCP connection.

  3. Bachelors of Computer Science | University of Georgia

Earned a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Georgia, graduating with a GPA of 3.84/4.00.

  4. Simulations Software Developer | United States Air Force

Designed and implemented three Azure DevSecOps pipelines integrating Fortify SCA, SonarQube, and a general development pipeline to streamline pull request validation and CI, improving code quality and deployment efficiency. Spearheaded software integration for two key hardware components in a $15M organic radar OFP test bench, accelerating OFP code delivery to Northrop Grumman for F-35 main source code and advancing organic sustainment while reducing vendor dependency. Created PowerShell and batch scripts to automate testing workflows, integrating internal tools and enhancing productivity for the simulations team. Developed a C++ fiber hardware manager with AE-FC-ASM aligned to a Qt QML application for JSF message transmission, meeting hardware-in-the-loop requirements from the Joint Program Office and Lockheed Martin for F-35 mission systems. Upgraded three legacy repositories from .NET 4 to .NET 9, advancing five framework generations to boost performance and maintainability of critical systems.
